THE CORK DILEMMA

Monday, November 30, 2009

Finding a cork... simple. Successfully matching it with your wine needs... not bet a dime. Better follow  the infamous Randall Grahm with his srew cap revolution or just remain calm?
The antient closure of cork generated  questions during the 1980's when a chemical compound called TCA (Trichloroanisol) was discovered and named as the primary reason of tainted wines.

Corks are of varieties in quality and producing methods so premium wines have a chance to get the best match. Long ageing periods of Tokaji wines in cellars require some natural closure. Though I would keep my cork dilemma to remain open for some other solutions.
